Pakistan Leads India on Economic and Peace Indicators in 2026 : Gallup Survey

Public morale in Pakistan has started the year 2026 at a much higher level of optimism than neighboring India and is fairly ahead of global benchmark, claims the latest Global Economic Gallup Survey. This annual poll, taken in multiple countries to measure public expectations for the year ahead, shows that Pakistan’s people are self-assured not only about their country’s immediate economic future but also in peace for the world during 2020.

The Global Economic Gallup Survey— covering 60 nations, including Pakistan and India— has been measuring three dials of sentiment: general good feeling about the coming year; expectations that prosperity will be greater (or smaller); and expectations for global peace. In all three respects, Pakistan comes out well ahead of the global average in two cases way above and also ahead of India across two of these key metrics.

The Global Economic Gallup Poll is carried out annually, with tens of thousands of people surveyed across many countries. In Pakistan this survey has been conducted by Gallup Pakistan since 1994 and it is one of the few reliable sources of public opinion trends in the country. The international scope of the study makes comparisons between countries and over time possible, offering valuable perspectives on shifting attitudes around the world.

In Conclusion as the world enters 2026, Pakistan has above-average scores for hope, economic confidence and a belief that there will be peace in the future, compared to the rest of the world and its immediate neighbor India, according to key Gallup indicators. These findings mirror a resilience of attitude in Pakistan during challenging global circumstances, while also providing a beacon of hope which may influence the country’s social and economic path for the coming year.
